A human is a member of the genus Homo. All living humans belong to the subspecies Homo sapiens sapiens.

Humans inhabit nearly all landmasses on Earth, and Wikipedia is contributed to by members of this species.

Some of the closest living evolutionary relatives to humans are the hominids chimpanzees, orangutans and gorillas.
