The Ganges River is a major river in India. It plays an important part in Hinduism. Devout Hindus make pilgrimages to bathe in the river. They believe it is connected to the powerful cleansing Ganga. If you die along the riverbanks or have your ashes thrown into the river, you will achive Moksha. Hindus also meditate along the river.
