George Peppard was an US film and television actor born in Detroit, Michigan, October 1, 1928. He was the son of an opera singer and a building contractor. Most notably starred alongside Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffanys (1961), although he is probaby more famous among the younger generation for his role as Col. John "Hannibal" Smith in cult 1980s Television show The A-Team.

He appeared in the TV series Banacek and also various action films and westerns.

He died of Pneumonia on May 8 1994.
