A novel by Vladimir Nabokov, later made into a film by Stanley Kubrick (Starring James Mason, Sue Lyon) and into a later film by Adrian Lyne staring Jeremy Irons. It takes the point of view of a man (Humbert Humbert) who falls in love with a 12 year old girl (Dolores Haze, AKA Lolita), marries her mother (Charlotte Haze), and when the mother dies, starts a sexual relationship with the girl. Despite the controversial theme of the book (or maybe because of it), it is Nabokov's most famous work and considered a literary masterpiece.

The work's influence has led to the title being used to describe very young girls who flaunt their sexuality to older men.
