Manned space missions are those carrying human passengers (in contrast to unmanned space missions which are remotely-controlled or robotic space probes).

On occasion, passengers of other species (dogs, chimpanzees, monkeys) have ridden aboard spacecraft.

Space Shuttle Missions

Shuttle missions are usually designated STS-1, STS2, etc. To date there have been 107 space shuttle missions. STS-108, also designated International Space Station Mission UF-1, is scheduled for no earlier than November 29, 2001.
