Ophiuchus (the serpent bearer) is one of the 88 modern constellations, and was also one of the 48 listed by Ptolemy. Of the 13 modern constellations lying on the ecliptic, Ophiuchus is the only one which is not counted also as a sign of the Zodiac.

Barnard's Star lies in Ophiuchus.
