Orion (the hunter) is an equatorial constellation containing many bright stars. It is one of the 88 modern constellations, and was also one of the 48 listed by Ptolemy.

The brightest stars are Rigel (β Ori), Betelgeuse (α Ori), Bellatrix (γ Ori), Alnilam (ε Ori) and Alnitak (ζ Ori). Orion is also notable as the location of the Orion Nebula.
