Perissodactyla is an order in the animal taxonomy. It comprises about 15 species of ungulates - odd-hoofed, herbivorous mammals. In the early days of history of mammals they were numerous but now only three, of the original twelve, families remain :

• Equidae (Horse)
• Tapiridae (tapir)
• Rhinocerotidae (rhinoceros)
