Franchise history

Football team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, so named because of the abundant steel industry in the city. The team won four Super Bowls and is regarded as The Team of The 70's. Don't let anyone tell you they won four Super Bowls in a row, in fact they were IX, X, XIII, and XIV.

The team had a dominant defense known as The Steel Curtain and an offense led by Terry Bradshaw, Franco Harris, Lynn Swann, and John Stallworth. Their coach was Chuck Noll.

If you know anyone from Pittsburgh or have visited there, you may know that locals don't pronounce the team Steelers with a long e. It sounds more like Stellars. I think that isn't just because of their local accent, but because they think the team is pretty stellar.
