Robert Penn Warren (1905- ) is an American poet and writer. He is a multiple Pulitzer Prize winner and was appointed the first U. S. Poet Laureate in 1986.

His best known work is All the King's Men (1946) which earned him the Pulitzer Prize for best novel in 1947.
