Skinheads are members of a subculture that started in the late 1960's, (in part?) emerging out of the Mod youth subculture in Great Britain. They are characterised by shaved heads, combat boots, braces (suspenders) and, at least originally, a preference for Oi music.

Skinheads originally represented the working class. They had an extreme dislike for the government and businesses as both appeared to misrepresent the working class and their wishes. As the Skinhead movement continued on in Great Britian it seemed to become involved in anti-immigration activities, and more openly into a fascist/racist ideology.

Skinheads are now divide into three main catagories: Traditional Skinhead, nazi (National Socialist) Skinhead, and SHARP (SkinHeads Against Racial Prejudice).
