The championship game in the National Football League. The Super Bowl is often considered the premier annual sporting event in the United States.

Super Bowl Sunday is the day on which it takes place.

The Super Bowl was first played in 1967 between the champions of the American Football League and the National Football League, and now features the champions of the American Football Conference and the National Football Conference, under the aegis of the NFL.

Following Apple Computer's 1984 advertisement announcing the Macintosh computer, directed by Ridley Scott, the broadcast of the Super Bowl became the premier spot for high-concept or simply extravagantly expensive commercials. Famous commercial campaigns include the Budweiser "Bud Bowl" campaign, and the 1999 and 2000 dot-com ads.
