Administrative capital of The Netherlands, located in the province Zuid-Holland. The Dutch name for The Hague is 's Gravenhage, which is usually abbreviated to Den Haag.

The counts of Holland used it as their administrative center; all cities had their rights and 'kapsones'. 's Gravenhage literally means "The counts' hedge".
