William Seward Burroughs (1855-1898)

Born in New York State.

Initially a bank clerk he invented an adding machine and a founder of the American Arithmometer Company (later Burroughs Corporation, after his death).

Died in Citronelle, Alabama, in 1898.

Grandfather of William S. Burroughs the writer.
