The Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF) was founded in 1961 and is one of the world's largest environmental organizations. From its inception and up to 1986, it was called World Wildlife Fund.

According to their web site, they are dedicated to

  • preserving genetic, species, and ecosystem diversity
  • ensuring that the use of natural resources is sustainable both now and in the longer term, for the benefit of all life on Earth
  • promoting action to reduce pollution and wasteful consumption to a minimum

Their logo, the black and white panda, is well-known.
